The quaint city of Pflugerville lies mostly in Travis County, Texas. The population was recently set in 2012 at just over 39,000 people. This is a suburb that is part of the Austin and Round Rock metro area. According to Pflugerville Realtors, the area gets its interesting name from a German settler named Henry Pfluger who had purchased the first plot of land at the rate of $1600 for 160 acres.
Pflugerville is nestled 15 miles Northeast of the Colorado River. It is also close enough to the hill county to enjoy some good hiking and all of the recreation that the hill country has to offer. The 90's brought the city a spike in population as well as the surrounding cities of Cedar Park, Round Rock, and Georgetown. This was due to the population of Austin nearly doubling in size. A good and well-informed Pflugerville Realtor understands that it is a symbiotic relationship between Austin and the surrounding cities.
The city is just over 11 square miles & is home to at least 15 parks with a variety of things to do. They have plays capes, & at least 30 miles of hiking and biking trails. It is a very laid-back community with something for everyone! Public transportation in Pflugerville is decent, however schedules are limited. The city council is working on a commuter line connecting the outer lying areas to the cities in the future.
Money Magazine recently placed Pflugerville on the "Best Places to Live" list, & they were right! With a new water park, hotels, and vast development on the city's schedule, Pflugerville is sure to continue its massive growth!
